School bus drivers

Regionally the Ministry of Education contracts provide opportunities for part time, holiday exempt employment and charter work. Ironically, despite complexities that are associated with this sector the wages remain low; membership could be seen as a cause, but the issue remains problematic for the union. A number of drivers are retired and issues around secondary tax are often talked about.
